And so it begins!!!!

Work on the addition has begun. We are actually a little ahead of schedule. We had planned to only be up to the cabin for one week and the plan was to do the foundation work and to go back on the 25th an do the floor framing but we took two weeks and got the foundation done and the floor framed.

So let me describe the foundation. Our cabin is built on a schist rock pad that is different then most Alaska tundra.  So we don't have the settling as bad as others. We bought 8 12x12x20 ft beams with the property. You can see one in the pic. So after a couple of days of manual labor lol, I was able to get them set. We used a product called Copper Green to stain and protect them.
